Bushmount Nursing Home
The care we provide at Bushmount Nursing Home is characterised by respect for the residents, respect for their values, and respect for their expressed needs. Our care is guaranteed by communication with the residents and their families, by providing physical comfort, emotional support, and alleviating any fear or anxiety that may exist. Our ethos is that the resident is the most important person. Sean Collins – Founder & Registered Provider
Bushmount Nursing Home is situated in the heart of Clonakilty town on six acres of mature gardens with sweeping lawns and stately trees. Bushmount Nursing Home was initially opened in 1956 by the Sisters of Charity of St Paul as a home for retired priests.Sean and Anne took over the ownership of the Nursing home on April 1st, 2009 and renamed it Bushmount Nursing Home. Bushmount has been an integral part of Clonakilty for over 50 years.
Our vision is to ensure the provision of the highest standard of holistic care and treatment to persons who can no longer live at home. We endeavour to furnish an environment, which aims to replicate the resident’s home life. We strongly believe in providing a high standard of emotional and person centred care which underpins everything we do.
In meeting our goals to provide the highest standard of care we incorporate external expertise. We work closely with HIQA and the NHI to ensure we are keeping with best practice and current legislation. HIQA as our governing authority and registering body ensure the care we provide evolves and is constantly improving to meet with our residents needs. See here for our inspection reports
